# Get Ready to Juggle! Your NYC Weekly Fix & The Grand Juggling Gathering in Evansville!

Hello fellow jugglers and flow artists! Get ready for an exciting week, both here in the heart of NYC and as we look forward to the biggest event in the juggling calendar – the International Jugglers' Association (IJA) Festival!

Our vibrant community here in New York City is always buzzing with activity, offering plenty of opportunities to practice, learn, and connect. But soon, the global juggling family will converge, and we at FlowJuggle are incredibly excited to be a part of it, as we have been for over a decade!

## Your Detailed Weekly NYC Juggling & Flow Schedule

Here's a comprehensive look at where and when you can find us for some fantastic juggling and flow time right here in the city. Grab your props and come join the fun!

**Monday - Friday (Every Weekday Session):**

These sessions are the backbone of our weekly juggling routine, perfect for a consistent practice.

* **12:00 PM (Noon): Bryant Park** - A fantastic spot for midday juggling, often drawing a diverse crowd.

* **2:00 PM: Herald Square** - Keep the momentum going in the afternoon right in front of the iconic Macy's.

**Special Weekly Sessions (Don't Miss These!):**

**Monday:**

* **6:00 PM - 7:00 PM: Hoop Meeting!** This dedicated session for hoopers and all flow toy enthusiasts takes place right in front of Macy's on 34th Street. It's a great opportunity to share tricks and learn from each other in a welcoming environment.

**Tuesday:**

* **5:30 PM: Bryant Park** - An additional evening session at Bryant Park for those who can't make the earlier times or just want more juggling!

* **6:00 PM - 7:00 PM: Hoop Jam!** Head to Plaza 33 (also known as the little courtyard outside Penn Station). These vibrant jams kicked off this past Tuesday, July 8th, and will continue weekly until September! It's a fantastic spot with plenty of space.

* **10:00 PM: Washington Square Park (WSP)** - Our popular late-night juggling gathering under the arch at Washington Square Park. Perfect for winding down the day with some tosses and good company.

**Wednesday:**

* **7:00 PM: Washington Square Park (WSP)** - A mid-week gathering at WSP. This spot is a favorite for its lively atmosphere and allows for more expansive juggling.

**Thursday:**

* **6:00 PM - 8:00 PM: Gertrude Recreational Center** - This is our dedicated indoor gym meeting. It's ideal for practicing more complex tricks or props in a controlled environment. Please remember, membership to the center is required for this session.

* **10:00 PM: Washington Square Park (WSP)** - Another late-night WSP session for Thursday night owls and dedicated jugglers.

**Saturday (Summer Only):**

* **11:00 AM: Bryant Park** - A great way to start your summer weekend! This morning session at Bryant Park is weather-dependent, so keep an eye on forecasts.

## The 78th Annual International Jugglers' Festival is Just Days Away!

Get ready to mark your calendars because the biggest annual celebration of juggling is almost here! The **78th Annual International Jugglers' Festival** is set to take place from **July 14th to 20th, 2025, in Evansville, Indiana.** This is more than just a convention; it's a week-long immersion into the world of juggling, featuring games, thrilling competitions, insightful workshops, and an unparalleled sense of community that connects jugglers from around the globe.

### Spectacles, Learning, and Fun for All Ages!

The festival promises four nights of incredible **Juggling Spectaculars** at the historic **Victory Theater, running from July 15th-17th, and again on July 19th, all starting at 7:30 PM**. These shows feature world-class jugglers and performers, promising breathtaking acts you won't want to miss. Local residents can even enjoy discounted tickets at the box office!

**Want to learn to juggle for FREE!?** If you've ever wanted to pick up this amazing skill, the IJA offers a fantastic opportunity. Head over to the **Old National Event Plaza from July 15th-19th, 2025, between 11 AM and 3 PM** for complimentary juggling lessons. It's the perfect entry point into our wonderful art form!

### A Deep Dive into the Festival Experience:

* **Registration:** While online registration is now closed, you can absolutely **register onsite** when you arrive in Evansville anytime between July 14th-20th. Day passes for the gym are available if you just want to drop in for a day of open juggling. Show tickets can be purchased directly at the theater box office (this is recommended to avoid TicketMaster fees!). For those planning to stay the whole week, there's a special deal: $350 for adults and $200 for youth (11-17 years old) for a week-long gym pass and access to all Victory Theater show tickets!

* **"Useless" - A Must-See Show:** Don't miss Michael Karas's brand new 60-minute solo show, "Useless," performing on Friday, July 18th at 3 PM and 5 PM. Michael, a seasoned performer at the IJA since 2004, has crafted a theatrical juggling show that explores the art form through unique tricks, tight choreography, awkward humor, and a healthy dose of self-awareness. It's a love letter to juggling, celebrating its ups and downs. Tickets for "Useless" are just $10 and will be available only at the Festival Registration desk.

* **Fueling Your Juggling:** Evansville offers a variety of dining options. Mike Sullivan, the Senior Future Festival Site Coordinator, has put together an essential guide to "Dining and Drinking in Evansville" – be sure to bookmark it on your phone for easy access to hidden gems!

* **Community & Leadership:** If you're an IJA member, you have a voice! Participate in the **2025 IJA Board of Directors Election** (vote online until July 17th, 11 AM CDT, or in person at the festival). The annual **IJA Board Meeting** is also open to all members – a great chance to hear about the organization's happenings and future plans.

* **Behind the Scenes:** Ever wondered how festival sites are chosen, and what goes into planning such a massive event? Join Jake Darrow's insightful workshop on Tuesday, July 15th (1-2 PM) or Saturday, July 19th (10-11 AM) to learn the intricacies of venue selection, contracts, and city partnerships.

* **Youth Engagement:** The IJA is deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of jugglers. The **Youth Juggling Academy (YJA)** is hosting **Club YJA** for jugglers aged 8-18, with daily get-togethers and workshops led by professional teaching artists (Tuesday-Friday, 10 AM - 12 PM). It's a fantastic program for young jugglers to develop their skills and build friendships. ### Important Travel Information & Festival Tips:

* **Getting to Evansville:** You can fly directly to Evansville Regional Airport (EVV). Alternatively, you can fly into Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) or Nashville International Airport (BNA) and then connect to Evansville via bus or rental car, which can sometimes save on airfare.

* **REAL ID:** A crucial reminder for air travel within the USA: a **REAL ID or passport is now required** for those 18 and older. Check your identification well in advance of your flight to avoid any last-minute surprises!

* **Festival Prep Tips:** To make your festival experience smooth, remember to **identify your stuff** (especially juggling props, which can easily get mixed up in a crowded gym!). Always have some form of **personal ID** on you for safety. Wear **comfortable shoes** designed for standing on concrete floors all day. Bring any necessary **medications** with you, as finding them away from home can be tricky. And finally, **leave room in your suitcase** – you'll undoubtedly be tempted by all the amazing props available from vendors!
